Safety Coordinator

Manufacturing company in Harleysville is looking for a temporary Safety Coordinator to cover a medical leave for about 4 months. This is full time, 40 hrs per week, 5 days a week on site. Salary is $22 hr.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promote and support a safety culture with all manufacturing team members.
• Dispense safety supplies as needed.
• Conduct safety orientation with new employees.
• Perform monthly safety training as required.
• Develop, maintain and audit Lock Out / Tag procedures.
• Participate in safety incident investigations.
• Participate in weekly safety audits.
• Write incident investigation and audit reports.
• Maintain and order safety supplies as required.
• Conduct monthly safety inspections.
• Join the First Aid Team eventually becoming the administrative leader.
• Join the Safety Committee
• Develop and revise OSHA required and recommended plans and procedures.
• Review and maintain HMIS ratings for products and raw materials.
• Maintain copies of Safety Data Sheets.

Other Duties:

• Must have an exceptional knowledge of OSHA regulations and how to apply them.
• Must keep up to date with new and revised safety regulations including OSHA Emphasis Programs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
• Ability to provide safety training in a group setting at all organizational levels.
• Ability to understand basic mechanical terms and requirements, such as for Lock Out / Tag Out procedures and audits.
• Must be organized and detail oriented.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Able to work under pressure and maintain focus.
• Must be able to develop timelines and meet deadlines.
• Must have excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and be flexible and adaptable.
