Job Description
Title: Motor Carrier Training Facilitator
Responsibility:
The employee is responsible for providing training and resource information to state and contractual staff members. Purpose of work is to ensure that the Department’s policies and established guidelines are met in regard to staff development and training. The employee will be expected to partner with agency personnel and related stakeholders working toward the completion of assigned functions. Exceptional customer service is provided to agency partners and the general public.
This is an ongoing contractual position that reports directly to the division training consultant.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this position include:
- Facilitate training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques to accommodate different learning styles and preferences
- Conduct orientation and introductory training for all new staff
- Assist with the planning, coordination, development, performance, and evaluation of the training programs for a state agency, including researching, designing, developing, and executing strategies to achieve agency purpose, goals, and objectives
- Manage up-to-date, engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, job aids, and hands-on activities
- Coordinate training schedules, venues, and logistics, ensuring smooth execution of training events
- Test, measure, and evaluate trainee performance and make recommendations on retention or working status
- Maintain training records and prepare reports on training activities, attendance, and outcomes
- Assist with evaluating proposed and existing staff training content and delivery strategies to ensure current policies, procedures, standards, and best practices are incorporated
- Prepare and distribute surveys and questionnaires used as data reference for training needs assessments
This position may include additional assignments not listed on an as needed basis.
What You’ll Need for Success:
- Extensive communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Knowledge of adult learning and educational theories, methods, principles, practices, techniques, and assessment tools
- Ability to quickly learn subject matter laws, rules, and regulations
- Experience with Microsoft products such as PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Ability to conduct research and remain abreast of new developments in training
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to abide by the Department’s Standards of Conduct
- Ability to assess training needs, gather feedback, and make data-driving decisions for continuous improvement
