Key Responsibilities

  • Personalized Instruction: Deliver high-quality, 1-on-1 academic and behavioral instruction tailored to individual student needs.
  • Curriculum Planning: Design, adapt, and implement structured, engaging curriculum plans that align with each student's unique learning profile.
  • Progress Tracking: Consistently track, document, and analyze academic and behavioral improvements to ensure data-driven growth.
  • Collaborative Care: Attend and participate in quarterly progress meetings with parents, managers, and the student's broader care team.
  • Feedback Integration: Actively accept, process, and implement constructive feedback from supervisors and care teams to optimize teaching strategies.

Schedule Requirements

  • A minimum commitment of 3 to 5 days per week.
  • Must be willing to commit to the role and families for a minimum of 6 months to 1 year to ensure stability for our students. (Compensation depends on educational background, professional experience, and skills)

 

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification: Must be willing to obtain certification within 90 days of hire (training guidance provided).
  • Knowledge: Foundational knowledge of general or special education principles.
  • Traits & Passion: Extremely patient, open to taking feedback, and deeply passionate about working with neurodivergent students.
  • Compliance: Must provide valid US work authorization and successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check.

Preferred:

  • Higher Education degree (Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or ongoing studies) in Special Education, Psychology, Behavioral Science, or a related field.
  • Prior experience as a tutor, teacher’s aide, paraprofessional, or behavioral technician (RBT/ABA).

At Focus Minds Tutoring, we provide personalized tutoring and neurodevelopment services for students who struggle academically, behaviorally, and/or developmentally. We are seeking dedicated, patient, and long-term Special Education Instructors (including Tutors, Teachers, and Behavioral Specialists) to work 1-on-1 with neurodivergent children (grades 4th–12th) with diagnoses such as ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and more. In this role, you will work directly with students in their homes or homeschooling environments to unlock their full potential.
