Machine Operator – Fabrication

Location: Pelham / Hoover, AL Area

Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly

Pay Range: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour (based on experience)

Job Summary

The Machine Operator’s primary responsibility is to run Punch Cut machines to produce high-quality components according to order specifications. CNC experience is a plus and may be used for advanced operations. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to meet production targets. The position involves moderate physical activity, including standing for extended periods and handling materials. Lift-assist equipment is provided for heavier loads to ensure safe and ergonomic practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate Punch Cut machines following production orders and supervisor instructions.

• Log into production software at shift start and review scheduled jobs.

• Verify staged materials and ensure proper grouping for production.

• Perform routine checks and assist with general preventive maintenance and machine upkeep as directed.

• Report machine faults immediately to the Fabrication Supervisor.

• Maintain accurate job data using production software.

• Follow PPE requirements and maintain a clean, organized work area.

• Communicate any issues with staging, machine performance, or order clarity before shift end.

• Meet defined shift output goals and uphold quality standards.

• Assist with logistics tasks such as boxing and labeling finished materials.

• Adhere to OSHA and company safety protocols at all times.

• Maintain production efficiency and quality standards; meet daily output targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.

• Experience operating automated machinery and using HMI interface input (training available for entry-level candidates).

• CNC operations experience is a plus.

• Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus.

• Experience with logistics tasks such as boxing and labeling materials.

• Ability to read and follow production orders and system instructions.

• Familiarity with production software for job tasks (training provided).

• Ability to perform moderate physical tasks safely; lift-assist provided for heavier materials.

Shift Hours

First Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Second Shift: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Occasional overtime may be required based on production needs.
