We’re looking for a LITIGATION ASSOCIATE to join our busy team on Long Island. We are an established real estate owner/management company in business for 85+ years with properties in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Scarsdale and the Bronx.

Candidates should have litigation and commercial leasing experience. Candidates must also be self-driven, reliable, willing to learn and be resourceful. Strong computer skills, proficient writing skills and strong communication skills are a must. This is an incredible opportunity for an extremely organized individual that thrives in a fast paced environment that requires multi-tasking, the ability to time manage and transition from task to task with ease.


Day to day duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Representing the company’s interest in the challenges of dealing with agencies such as Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Buildings, Department of Sanitation, Environmental Control Board, Department of Transportation, Department of Health, Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and Fire Department.
  • Draft, review and negotiate lease agreements, lease amendments and license agreements.
  • Prepare lease abstracts and coordinate and manage lease administration process.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of documents that concern real estate matters to support the asset management and operations departments.
  • Assist with preparation of acquisition and financing related documentation.
  • Coordinating and managing closing logistics and post-closing matters.
  • Draft, review and negotiate access agreements, management agreements, service agreements and confidentiality agreements.
  • Assist with handling day to day real estate matters that arise from our leases, including, enforcing lease rights and address lease operational and monetary defaults.\
  • Assist with preparation, organization, and management of corporate entity formation documentation and operating agreements.
  • Assist our In-House Counsel with all various day-to-day L&T needs


Requirements, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience: 3-5 years
  • Prior litigation experience
  • Energetic, Personable& able to prioritize assigned duties
  • Strong literacy in MS computer programs
  • Fluent in a second language is a HUGE PLUS
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Must be organized, politely persistent, self-motivated, team player, can handle a fast paced environment, and eager to get involved and learn;
  • Excellent communication skills (written reports/analysis and oral presentation).
  • Experience working for a busy real estate or property management office is a HUGE PLUS
