Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring an active MI RN license, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

• Work in a 22-bed Stepdown Intermediate Care unit
\n
• Patient ratio of 1:4
\n
• 4x12 hour day shifts (0700-1930)
\n
• Every other weekend required
\n
• Every other holiday required
\n
• No on-call requirements
\n
• Floating required as needed within the hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals depending on volume/census
\n
• Uses Cerner Powerchart for charting
\n
• Caribbean Blue scrub color required
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active MI RN license required
\n
• Minimum 2 years of Stepdown/Intermediate Care experience required
\n
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
\n
• CPI certification preferred
\n
• Cerner charting experience required
\n
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry monitoring
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Care for patients requiring cardiac telemetry, respiratory support, and post-surgical monitoring
\n
• Responsibilities include IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and interpretation of ABGs
\n
• Experience with neuro/psych conditions, orthopedic trauma, and cardiovascular procedures is valued
\n
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
\n
• Local candidates are not accepted; must live at least 50 miles from the facility
\n
• Maximum RTO is 10 days, and travelers must be willing to work at least 1 of 3 holidays if RTO falls during that period
\n
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
\n
• Completion of up to 8 hours of orientation modules is preferred within 1 week of signing
\n
