Key Job Elements:
- Design, detail, and integrate mechanical components and assemblies to deliver innovative and safe equipment solutions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design complex systems
- Conduct thorough analysis, simulation, and testing to validate design concepts and optimize performance and reliability
- Design and troubleshoot complex vacuum systems for material handling applications
- Create, update, and maintain company documentation for all mechanical detail drawings, sub-assemblies, and system documentation
- Interface with customers, sales, and management to define system design parameters accurately
- Practice DFMA techniques for R&D and production of mechanical components and systems
- Assemble prototype mechanical systems and conduct testing of components and sub-assemblies
- Perform cost-effective engineering exercises to optimize component costs
- Identify and resolve component obsolescence issues efficiently
- Limited domestic travel, less than 10% per year
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proficient in CAD/FEA/CFD
- Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 – 2018 and ANSI Y14.35 - 2014
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design
- 2 years of experience with SolidWorks
- 2 years of design experience with automated equipment
- Understanding of ISO 9001 and Engineering Change Notices
- Familiarity with designing complex vacuum systems
