Company Overview
The AIS Infrastructure Group consists of four heavy civil construction companies. Our services include infrastructure improvement, heavy civil construction, and site development for government and state agencies and private enterprise across the United States. We do a wide variety of heavy civil projects, including highways, bridges, power plants, dams, reservoirs, underground utilities, and more.
Job Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and support in the planning, design, and execution of construction and industrial services projects. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of AIS Infrastructure's infrastructure projects. The Project Engineer must possess a strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction practices, and project management. They are also required to adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols. This position will start on a project in Carrollton, GA, but the employee will need to be open to travel to move to other projects in the Southeast as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of project plans, including scope, budget, and schedule.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and assessments to evaluate project requirements and constraints.
- Prepare detailed engineering designs, specifications, and drawings.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure project requirements are met.
- Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Work closely with quality control manager to ensure strict guidelines are adhered to
Requirements and Education:
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secured facilities, including military bases.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, preferably with heavy civil or infrastructure projects.
- Experience assisting with and completing construction project management tasks.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction practices, and project management.
- Familiarity with relevant software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management software.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Ability to track submittals and complete RFIs, REAs, CORs, and CTCs.
Preferred Requirements and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field highly preferred.
- Experience with quality control tasks on a heavy civil construction site. Any quality-related certifications are a big plus.
- Experience working with USACE and/or on NAVFAC projects is a big plus.
