Assignment Details:
- Position: Interventional Radiology Technologist.
- Location: Wilmington, NC.
- Contract Length: 16 Weeks.
- Shift: Days | 4x10-Hour (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM).
- Schedule: Monday – Friday.
- Start Date: August 10, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians during a wide range of diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures.
- Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and sterile fields while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Scrub, circulate, and monitor patients throughout procedures.
- Perform equipment setup, patient positioning, and procedure site preparation.
- Operate fluoroscopy and other imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition.
- Assist with vascular access procedures, catheter placements, embolizations, biopsies, drain placements, and other interventional procedures.
- Document procedures accurately using the Epic electronic medical record.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety, infection prevention, and departmental quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT (R) certification required.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of recent Interventional Radiology experience.
- Previous travel experience required.
- Experience in a Trauma Level II or higher facility.
- Proficient in:
- Interventional Radiology procedures.
- Fluoroscopy.
- Central venous access and port placement.
- PICC and central line care.
- Angioplasty.
- Embolization.
- Chest tube placement.
- Gastrostomy tube placement.
- Nephrostomy procedures.
- Liver biopsy.
- Thoracentesis.
- Stent placement.
- Catheter and drain exchanges.
- Room circulation and sterile technique.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ARRT (VI) certification.
- Trauma Level I experience.
- Experience with:
- TIPS procedures.
- CT-guided procedures.
- Ultrasound-guided procedures.
- Siemens and GE Innova imaging systems.
- PACS.
- Vascular closure devices (Perclose, StarClose).
- Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias.
- EKG lead placement.
- Previous charge or leadership experience.
