The Director of Compliance is responsible for overseeing the organization's compliance program to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards. This role collaborates with the senior leadership team, develops compliance strategies, and promotes an organizational culture of integrity and ethical conduct. It requires strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, sharp attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding the highest compliance standards.

Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain an effective compliance program aligning with federal, state, local, and FQHC-specific regulations. Support 340B compliance policy development and review.
Monitor and ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, Medicare, Medicaid, and other healthcare regulations. Oversee the timely submission of compliance reports and disclosures to regulatory bodies, executive leadership, and the Board of Directors.
Implement a comprehensive auditing and monitoring program to identify risks and assess internal controls. Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during audits and investigations.

Serve as oversight for patient information privacy safeguards and electronic health record security in alignment with HIPAA requirements. Lead investigations and risk mitigation for data security incidents.
Advise executive leadership and the Board of Directors regarding compliance rights, responsibilities, and HRSA FQHC program requirements. Support annual Board governance workplans, conflict of interest screenings, and preparation for periodic HRSA operational site visits.
Design and deliver comprehensive compliance training programs for employees, contractors, and volunteers. Establish clear internal processes for reporting, investigating, and resolving misconduct or compliance concerns.
Provide overall management, direction, and performance evaluations for department staff.
Oversee departmental budget development, monitoring, and compliance.
Direct hiring, disciplinary, and termination procedures within the department.
Prioritize initiatives and manage competing demands based on business needs and resources.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a healthcare environment (FQHC environment highly preferred).
Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO), or another nationally recognized compliance accreditation.

Education:
Associate

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree, or an Associates degree paired with equivalent business experience.
Advanced general verbal/written communication, computing, and mathematical skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of the trade sufficient to instruct others and serve as an internal organizational resource.
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution capabilities.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word (complex document creation) and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions/databases).
