SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Facilities Maintenance - 3 team member works as a part of a team performing multiple duties involving welding, fabrication, maintenance of equipment, facilities, and grounds. This position performs skilled welding and fabrication work in support of facility and manufacturing operations. Assigned team and tasks will vary based on business necessity.
PELLA CORPORATION REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or equivalency
• Pass pre-employment tests, including Prework screen and Drug screen
• Work in a team environment with the ability to communicate in a concise, polite and respectful manner
• HVAC certification may be required at some sites
• Class B Electrician License or equivalent certification
ENVIRONMENT:
• Noise level requires hearing protection in designated areas
• Seasonal high/low temperatures and humidity
• Outside conditions
• Clothing spoilage
• Frequent handling of power tools
• Work near moving mechanical parts
• Work at various heights
• Travel by various modes of transportation
• Hazardous materials
• Work in confined spaces
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Comply with safety, quality, and productivity requirements and procedures
• Regular/dependable attendance required
• Flexibility of work hours including overtime, shift variation, and holidays
• Perform preventative maintenance requirements per an established schedule
• Assists in the development and update of preventative maintenance requirements for equipment as part of the EEM and ongoing Pella Maintenance Processes
• Facilities maintenance generally includes roofs, doors, floors, restrooms, air leaks, replacing light bulbs and ballasts, painting, repairing and replacing fans, and maintaining interior and exterior buildings, fire sprinkler systems, machinery and equipment
• Use of hand tools and machinery is required to maintain equipment, buildings, building control systems and grounds
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of building electrical systems
• Maintenance of building plumbing systems
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of building control systems
• Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on equipment, machinery, structural components, and facility systems
• Fabricate, modify, repair, and install metal components, machine guards, racks, platforms, handrails, brackets, and structural steel as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding specifications
• Operate welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively
• Support equipment modifications, repairs, and facility improvement projects through welding and fabrication activities
• Maintain necessary PIV license(s)
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ability to rotate to other positions as needed
• Maintain good housekeeping
• Learn and perform multiple job tasks. Rotate to any job within the Facilities Maintenance classification
• Facilities Maintenance team members will be cross-trained in different areas
• Other duties may be assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Manufacturing related experience is preferred
• Job related experience is preferred
• Welding and fabrication experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Lift up to 100 lbs. at waist level and up to 70 lbs. at shoulder level up to an occasional basis when moving products
• Push or pull with up to 100 lbs. of force up to an occasional basis when moving products
• Generate up to 90 lbs. of grip strength up to an occasional basis with each hand while handling products
• Generate up to 15 lbs. of pinch strength up to an occasional basis with each hand while handling products
• Display average coordination with both hands up to a continuous basis while performing job tasks
• Perform elevated work up to an occasional basis when handling products
• Stoop, kneel or squat up to an occasional basis when handling products
• Reach forward and to the side up to a frequent basis when handling products
• Stand up to a continuous basis and walk up to a frequent basis during the course of each shift
• Able to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per day
