THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position leads fiscal operations for several human service agencies and guides staff in managing budgets, reports, and financial reviews. Work involves supporting the county by keeping financial work accurate, organized, and in line with all rules and requirements. As a County Fiscal Officer 3, you will perform the following duties:

  • Agency Oversight: Manage fiscal functions across multiple human service programs with accuracy and care
  • Staff Supervision: Lead fiscal officers by assigning tasks, reviewing work, and supporting staff performance
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare statements, reconcile accounts, and follow all state and federal reporting standards
  • Budget Management: Oversee the creation and monitoring of budgets to meet program and grant rules
  • Audit Compliance: Conduct audits and maintain cost allocation processes that follow federal requirements
  • Process Improvement: Develop and update systems and procedures that strengthen fiscal operations


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • This position may require overnight travel or out of county travel for meetings or training. Irregular work schedule including evenings, weekends, or holidays may also be required.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a County Fiscal Officer 2; or
  • Five years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business-related associate's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
  • Three years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business-related bachelor's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes or is supplemented by six college credits in accounting.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
