The County of Washington Behavioral Health & Developmental Services Department is seeking applicants for the position of Mental Health Program Specialist 2. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position manages complex mental health cases that require careful coordination across crisis services and community partners. As a MH Program Specialist 2 (Complex Case Manager), you will perform the following duties:
- Case Coordination: Support individuals with complex needs by guiding service planning and crisis response
- Interagency Collaboration: Work with providers, courts, hospitals, and county partners to resolve issues and improve care
- Data Management: Review information, analyze outcomes, and prepare reports that track service delivery
- Service Oversight: Monitor programs, assist with licensing reviews, and help ensure quality standards are met
- Community Support: Engage specialty populations and help organize trainings that strengthen community knowledge
- Emergency Response: Assess urgent situations and verify that proper steps are taken to protect participant welfare
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work outside of normal scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends will be required.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a County Mental Health Program Specialist 1; or
- Three years of professional level experience in the field of mental health; and a bachelor's degree; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
