This full-time contract opportunity centers on working with Pre-K and elementary-aged students in both 1:1 and classroom settings. Your specialized skills as a paraprofessional will ensure each child receives personalized guidance to thrive academically and socially. Candidates comfortable engaging with a range of student needs—from mild to moderate and even severe behaviors—will find this role especially impactful.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Prior experience supporting children in Pre-K or elementary classrooms.
  • Background or training as a paraprofessional in school settings.
  • Ability to work effectively with students exhibiting various behavioral challenges.
  • Adaptability to meet individualized and classroom-based educational plans.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to student engagement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students, reinforcing lesson content and encouraging participation.
  • Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) under teacher guidance.
  • Foster an inclusive, welcoming classroom atmosphere.
  • Assist in behavior management and reinforce positive behavior supports.
  • Monitor student progress and provide input to instruction teams.
  • Support students with daily activities, both academic and social.
  • Model positive interactions and encourage student independence.
