Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a short-term acute care hospital position requiring adult and nuclear cardiology experience, BLS, and CNMT or NMTCB certification.

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting in a Nuclear Medicine department
  • \n
  • Adult and nuclear cardiology patient population
  • \n
  • Procedures include gastric emptying, HIDA scan, MUGA scan, 3-phase scan, whole body bone scan, liver imaging, perfusion, ventilation/perfusion, exercise/rest-multiple, and pharmacological stress testing
  • \n
  • Additional skills required: isolation precautions, peripheral IV insertion and maintenance, and storing/handling/disposal of radioactive materials
  • \n
  • Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
  • \n
  • 4x10-hour day shifts, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • \n
  • On-call is required on a rotating basis, covering one full week at a time including all after-hours, Saturdays, and Sundays
  • \n
  • Travelers may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
  • \n
  • Experience in adult and nuclear cardiology settings required
  • \n
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
  • \n
  • CNMT or NMTCB certification required and must be in hand at time of consideration
  • \n
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • \n
  • IN state license or compact license required if applicable; pending state license accepted
  • \n
  • 2 supervisor references required for consideration
  • \n
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • \n

  • Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • \n
  • RTO of 5 days or fewer may be auto-approved

  • Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
  • \n
  • Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are subject to a consecutive break policy: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break, prior to reaching the traveler year mark
  • \n
  • Strong multitasking ability and a team-oriented approach are essential for this department
