Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager for a 26-week acute care assignment requiring 2+ years of acute care case management/discharge planning experience and a seasoned traveler background.

  • Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management/Utilization Review department
  • \n
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • \n
  • Patient ratios of 1:25 on weekdays and 1:45 on weekends
  • \n
  • No floating expected to other units
  • \n
  • Required to work every other weekend to meet department needs
  • \n
  • Responsibilities include admission criteria review, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, needs assessment/DME ordering, plan of care development, and prior authorizations
  • \n
  • Involves regulatory compliance related to CMS, Department of Health, DRG, and Joint Commission/Core Measures/National Safety Goals
  • \n
Requirements\n

  • Active CA RN license required (pending license accepted if licensed by start date)
  • \n
  • BLS certification required
  • \n
  • Minimum 2 years of Acute Care Case Management/Discharge Planning experience required
  • \n
  • Hospital experience required; behavioral health experience does not qualify
  • \n
  • Must be a seasoned traveler with prior travel nursing experience
  • \n
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • \n
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • \n
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • \n
Additional Information\n

  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • \n
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
  • \n
  • RTO limited to no more than 7 days, with all time-off requests submitted upfront during the application process
  • \n
  • Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
  • \n
  • Business attire or scrubs accepted as dress code
  • \n
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
  • \n
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • \n
  • Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
