Job Description
CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (COTA)The Lodge at Red RocksDEAR COTA,

How many times have you:

  • Located a missing hearing aid?

  • Tracked down a lost denture?

  • Fixed three wheelchairs?

  • Redirected a resident?

  • Educated a family member?

  • Solved a nursing problem?

  • Helped with a transfer?

  • Found someone's glasses?

...all before your first scheduled treatment?

If your answer is, "That was just yesterday," keep reading.

THE LODGE AT RED ROCKS IS LOOKING FOR A ROCKSTAR COTA.

Not the fake kind.

The real kind.

The kind who understands that therapy in skilled nursing is equal parts clinician, coach, detective, problem-solver, motivator, and occasionally magician.

LET'S ADDRESS THE ELEPHANT IN THE THERAPY GYM.

Every job ad says:

"We have a great culture."

"We value teamwork."

"We support our staff."

Sure.

And every resident swears they only pushed their call light once.

At The Lodge at Red Rocks, we don't expect you to take our word for it.

Come see for yourself.

Meet our NHA.

Meet our therapists.

Meet our nursing team.

Ask questions.

Talk to staff.

We're confident you'll notice something refreshing:

People actually enjoy working here.

WHAT MAKES THIS PLACE DIFFERENT?

Our NHA is phenomenal.

The kind of leader who doesn't hide in an office while everyone else puts out fires.

The kind who supports staff, removes barriers, and understands that residents receive the best care when employees are empowered to do their jobs.

Our IDT?

Let's just say collaboration isn't a buzzword here.

It's how we operate.

Nursing and therapy work together.

Providers and therapy work together.

Social services and therapy work together.

People communicate.

Problems get solved.

It's surprisingly effective.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Deliver occupational therapy treatments under the direction of an Occupational Therapist

  • Help residents regain function, independence, and confidence

  • Document treatments accurately and efficiently

  • Collaborate with nursing, therapy, providers, and families

  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning

  • Improve lives every single day

WHAT YOU WON'T DO
  • Beg people to communicate

  • Wonder if leadership knows your name

  • Fight uphill battles by yourself

  • Feel like your clinical expertise doesn't matter

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

  • Current Colorado COTA License

  • Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Understanding of skilled nursing, long-term care, and rehabilitation services

  • Ability to maintain timely and accurate documentation

BONUS POINTS IF YOU:
  • Can find a hearing aid with less than 5% battery remaining.

  • Know that "just one quick thing" is never one quick thing.

  • Have mastered the art of therapeutic encouragement.

  • Can motivate a resident, educate a family, and complete documentation without losing your sanity.

  • Understand that every successful discharge feels a little bit like winning the Super Bowl.

FAIR WARNING

If you're looking for drama, dysfunction, and endless frustration...

You'll probably be disappointed.

If you're looking for strong leadership, an incredible interdisciplinary team, supportive coworkers, and residents who make every day meaningful...

We should talk.

DON'T BELIEVE US?

Good.

Don't.

Come see for yourself.

We'll happily let our team do the talking.
