Child Care Associate

Job description
The childcare associate position is responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children living at ACCESS. This is a part-time position, Monday- Thursday with up to one evening per week.

QUALIFICATIONS
•Child Development education or related field preferred.
•Previous childcare experience required.
•Candidate must be an outgoing “people person”
•Reliable personal transportation required.
•Must be dedicated to the mission of serving women and children experiencing homelessness.
•Self-motivated, process-oriented, reliable, creative, flexible, and a self-starter
•Strong attention to detail and follow-through
•Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills CHILDCARE RESPONSIBILITIES
•Providing childcare during scheduled programming and additional hours as needed.
•Supervising field trips to local points of interest (zoo, state parks, baseball games, etc.)
•Teaching skills to children (reading, painting, etc.)
•Facilitating our Royal Reading Program for children with volunteers.
•Available to attend outside training as needed.
•Assist at Central Station (front desk) as needed.
•Assist case managers and other staff, as needed.
•Other duties as assigned by the Child Advocate
•Responsible for adhering to all policy and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook and other departmental procedure manuals.

ACCOUNTABILITY: The childcare associate position reports directly to the Child Advocate.

Requirements:
•Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen
•Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.
•The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
•Occasionally required to reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
•Ability to see and respond to situations.
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job Type: Part-time Pay: $15.00 per hour

Schedule:
• Monday to Thursday 9:00am-2:00pm or 10:00am-3:00pm
• One Evening shift per week as needed.
• Minimum 20 hours weekly

Experience:
• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:
• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
