Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team within a skilled nursing facility. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services that assist residents in improving functional independence, safety, and overall quality of life. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical skills and a commitment to high-quality, resident-centered care.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist

  • Provide therapeutic interventions focused on activities of daily living, including dressing, grooming, bathing, and feeding

  • Facilitate upper extremity strengthening, coordination, and fine motor skill development

  • Assist residents with cognitive retraining and functional task performance

  • Monitor resident progress and report changes or concerns to the Occupational Therapist

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards

  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on adaptive equipment and safety techniques

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive resident care

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment

 

  • Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize tasks effectively

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

  • Current state licensure or eligibility as a COTA

  • NBCOT certification required

  • CPR certification required

  • Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or geriatric rehabilitation preferred

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Recent graduates encouraged to apply
