Pediatric Physical Therapist
About the Role:
PlayDate Behavioral Interventions, a leading nonprofit organization in Colorado Springs, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our collaborative team. As a Pediatric Physical Therapist at PlayDate, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children with special needs. Our unique nonprofit program is dedicated to providing excellent services to children ages 0-18, and we are committed to breaking down barriers to care by offering scholarships and pro bono services.
Responsibilities:
Manage the PT program within our building and caseload
Interview children/caregivers and use physical examinations to diagnose the source of children's movement difficulties
Create unique, individualized treatment plans that outline the treatment goals and methods to be used
Help children to learn to move their bodies correctly, make their movements less painful, increase the functions of injured body parts, and heal from injuries
Assess clients and monitor their progress
Use techniques like functional training and exercise, medication, diet changes, and specialized equipment that is designed to treat and alleviate pain
Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team
Provide training and support to non-PT professionals

Requirements:
Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
2 years of experience working with children with developmental disabilities, including autism
1 year of experience overseeing/training staff
Licensed as a PT in Colorado
Ability to work independently as well as with a multidisciplinary team
