Title: Registered Dietitian

Status: PRN, Fridays and as needed

We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable PRN Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our interdisciplinary team.

The Registered Dietitian is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing individualized nutrition care for patients, with a focus on behavioral health, substance use recovery, pregnancy, and postpartum needs. This role supports both clinical stabilization and long-term wellness through nutrition education and therapeutic interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for adult and adolescent patients, including pregnant and postpartum women

  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on medical, psychiatric, and substance use diagnoses

  • Provide nutrition counseling and education in both individual and group settings

  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing, therapists, and case management to support holistic patient care

  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed

  • Provide specialized education related to prenatal, postpartum, and infant nutrition

  • Support patients with disordered eating patterns, food insecurity, and recovery-related nutritional needs

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards

  • Participate in treatment team meetings and discharge planning

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field

  • Current Registered Dietitian

  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in the state of Louisiana

  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience preferred

  • Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or maternal health strongly helpful

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills

  • Trauma-informed and patient-centered approach to care
