Your Impact

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping residents recover from illness, injury, or surgery and regain their highest possible level of independence.

Working closely with Physical Therapists and interdisciplinary team members, you'll make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans

• Measure and record resident strength, mobility, motor function, and overall progress

• Guide residents through therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation activities

• Assist residents in safely using mobility equipment and assistive devices

• Provide therapeutic treatments including stretching, range-of-motion exercises, and other prescribed interventions

• Monitor resident response to treatment and communicate progress to the Physical Therapist

• Document treatment sessions and resident outcomes accurately and timely

• Educate residents on exercises and techniques to improve mobility and independence

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment

• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal resident outcomes

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program

• Current New York State PTA License

• Skilled Nursing Facility or Rehabilitation experience preferred, but not required

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Passion for resident care and rehabilitation
