Job Summary:

 

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehab team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting and a passion for helping residents regain independence and improve their quality of life. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will implement therapeutic programs tailored to the individual needs of our residents.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide occupational therapy treatments to patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.

  • Assist in evaluating and documenting patient progress and response to treatment.

  • Implement individualized treatment plans based on OT goals and resident needs.

  • Educate and train residents, families, and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment use.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive care planning.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.

  • Adhere to facility, state, and federal guidelines for patient care and therapy services.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Required: Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

  • Required: Current COTA license in VA.

  • Preferred: 1+ year of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
