Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Job Overview of Forklift Operator

The Lee Group is seeking experienced Forklift Operators to join one of our valued clients in Toano, VA. This position plays a key role in warehouse operations by safely loading, unloading, storing, and moving products throughout the facility. The ideal candidate has prior forklift experience, preferably operating a swing lift (wire-guided), and is committed to safety, accuracy, and teamwork. Job Responsibilities of Forklift Operator

Operate a forklift safely to load, unload, move, stack, and stage materials throughout the warehouse.
Operate a swing lift (wire-guided) forklift, preferred.
Unload inbound shipments and transport products to designated storage locations.
Stack and store products efficiently while maintaining inventory organization.
Pull and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and product quality.
Load outbound shipments into trailers or railcars.
Move products between staging and storage areas.
Use RF scanners or radio frequency equipment for receiving, picking, put-away, and shipping functions.
Inspect shipments for damage and verify order accuracy.
Maintain warehouse equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications of Forklift Operator

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Current and valid forklift certification required.
One to two years of forklift operating experience preferred.
Experience operating a swing lift (wire-guided) forklift is highly preferred.
Basic computer skills and experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) are preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong customer service mindset and positive attitude.
Ability to meet warehouse productivity and shipping deadlines.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements of Forklift Operator

Frequent sitting, standing, and walking throughout the shift.
Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials weighing up to 75 to 100 pounds.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and repetitive physical tasks.
Exposure to varying warehouse temperatures.
Work both indoors and outdoors as needed.
Work around forklifts, moving equipment, machinery, and vehicle traffic.
Ability to safely perform physical warehouse duties throughout the workday.
