Grinder

Job Summary:Perform grinding operations to support the fabrication of enclosure assemblies, sub-panels, and accessories.The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:Responsibilities:Operate standard grinding tools and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.Grind, smooth, and finish metal components to remove sharp edges, burrs, weld marks, scratches, and excess material.Inspect parts for defects, ensuring quality and proper cosmetic appearance prior to the next stage of production.Interpret basic work instructions, drawings, and specifications as needed.Identify and report defective materials or questionable quality conditions.Maintain consistent quality standards while meeting production requirements.Maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.Assist with material handling and movement of parts as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:Ability to follow established SOP's and Work Instructions Must have knowledge and be able to use basic hand tools and grinding equipment Ability to read and use a tape measure. Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to complete required paperwork accurately.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of standing (8–10 hours per shift).Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally with assistance as required.Ability to safely operate equipment such as hand tools and, where applicable, overhead cranes and hand jacks. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. *Schaefer's Electrical Enclosures is an equal opportunity employer.
