Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Full-Time

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation team in Boston, MA. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality, resident-focused therapy services. This position is full-time and open to new graduates as well as candidates with Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy treatments in accordance with established plans of care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Assist residents in improving independence with activities of daily living (ADLs), functional mobility, strength, coordination, and cognitive skills.
• Monitor and document resident progress, responses to treatment, and any changes in condition.
• Communicate effectively with the supervising Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree from an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Current NBCOT certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Active Massachusetts COTA license or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including assisting residents with mobility and transfers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), rehabilitation, or post-acute care setting.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR).
• BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Experience:

• New graduates are encouraged to apply.
• SNF or post-acute care experience preferred but not required.
• Relevant clinical fieldwork experience will be considered.

Requirements:

• Must meet all Massachusetts licensure requirements for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• Must comply with all applicable state and federal healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
• Successful completion of background check, drug screening, and health clearance (including TB testing) required prior to employment.
• Must maintain licensure and certification in good standing throughout employment.
