Occupational Therapy Assistant

At Caring Acres, we are looking to build a team of therapists who are dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care that helps residents regain independence and improve quality of life. Our interdisciplinary team works collaboratively to deliver exceptional rehabilitation and long-term care services in a supportive environment.

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will help residents develop, recover, and maintain daily living and functional skills necessary for greater independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist

• Provide therapeutic interventions focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs)

• Assist residents with mobility, strengthening, coordination, and adaptive techniques

• Monitor resident progress and document treatment outcomes accurately and timely

• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals and home exercise programs

• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members

• Maintain compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and professional standards

• Ensure a safe and supportive therapy environment for all residents

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

• Current state licensure/certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
