Job Description
At Caring Acres, we are looking to build a team of therapists who are dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care that helps residents regain independence and improve quality of life. Our interdisciplinary team works collaboratively to deliver exceptional rehabilitation and long-term care services in a supportive environment.
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will help residents develop, recover, and maintain daily living and functional skills necessary for greater independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist
Provide therapeutic interventions focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs)
Assist residents with mobility, strengthening, coordination, and adaptive techniques
Monitor resident progress and document treatment outcomes accurately and timely
Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals and home exercise programs
Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
Maintain compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and professional standards
Ensure a safe and supportive therapy environment for all residents
Qualifications
Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Current state licensure/certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
