Forklift Operator

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced forklift operator to support material movement in a fast-paced metal recycling facility. This role involves handling irregular, heavy, and loose scrap materials in an outdoor industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts to move, load, and stage scrap metal (aluminum, copper, etc.)
• Handle non-palletized, uneven, and shifting loads
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
• Work safely around heavy processing equipment (conveyors, shredders, etc.)
• Maintain awareness of pedestrians, spotters, and machinery
• Keep work areas clear of debris and hazards
• Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols

Requirements:

• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
• Experience in scrap yard, recycling, construction, or heavy industrial setting strongly preferred
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, dust, and noise
• Comfortable handling sharp and irregular materials
• Strong safety mindset and situational awareness
