Job Description
At Health Dimensions Group, we are dedicated to elevating the standard of care and service for seniors across the communities we serve. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations at a large skilled nursing facility in the St. Paul market.
This is a high-impact leadership role for a nurse leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, values regulatory excellence, and is passionate about developing strong clinical teams while delivering exceptional resident-centered care.
What You’ll DoAs Director of Nursing, you will serve as the clinical and operational leader of the nursing department, responsible for ensuring quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and a strong culture of accountability and compassion.
In this role you will:
Lead and develop all nursing staff across skilled nursing units
Oversee daily clinical operations and resident care delivery to ensure individualized, high-quality outcomes
Drive regulatory compliance with federal, state, and corporate standards
Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and staff development
Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing teams
Lead care conferences and actively participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings
Manage quality assurance, documentation accuracy, and clinical reporting requirements
Resolve clinical and operational concerns involving residents, families, and staff
Develop and manage the nursing department budget, including expense oversight and resource allocation
Contribute to strategic planning initiatives for the facility’s clinical operations
Active Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
CPR certification required
Minimum 3+ years of DON or Nurse Manager experience in skilled nursing or transitional care strongly preferred
Experience with MDS process and care planning preferred
Background in geriatric nursing highly valued
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and clinical/HR systems
