Direct Care Staff

Global Partners Group NC Inc. is seeking dependable, compassionate, and motivated individuals to join our team as Direct Care Staff.

Direct Care staff provides direct supervision, behavioral support, skill development, and daily care to children and adolescents residing in a structured residential treatment setting. Residents may range from approximately 8 to 17 years of age.

This position is responsible for implementing interventions identified in each resident’s Person-Centered Plan, promoting safety, modeling appropriate behavior, documenting services, and helping residents develop the skills needed to achieve their treatment and transition goals.

Multiple positions are available for qualified male and female applicants.

Direct Care Staff will:

• Provide continuous supervision and maintain the safety and well-being of residents.
• Implement interventions, strategies, and activities outlined in each resident’s Person-Centered Plan.
• Assist residents with daily routines, hygiene, personal care, meals, chores, appointments, recreation, and community activities.
• Facilitate psychoeducational, life-skills, social-skills, and independent-living activities.
• Teach and reinforce healthy coping skills, emotional regulation, effective communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Help residents identify triggers, symptoms, behaviors, and appropriate replacement behaviors.
• Implement approved behavioral support plans, point systems, incentives, behavioral contracts, and therapeutic interventions.
• Use trauma-informed, strength-based, and person-centered approaches when interacting with residents.
• Provide redirection, crisis prevention, de-escalation, and behavioral support in accordance with agency policies and approved training.
• Promote positive interactions, appropriate boundaries, accountability, independence, and respect for others.
• Encourage residents to participate in treatment planning and make informed choices regarding their care.
• Support residents in understanding their rights, responsibilities, treatment goals, and grievance procedures.
• Administer or monitor medications only after completing required training and in accordance with agency policies, physician orders, and regulatory requirements.
• Observe residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, health concerns, behavioral changes, and changes in functioning.
• Promptly report medical, behavioral, safety, or medication concerns to the appropriate supervisor or healthcare professional.
• Document resident behaviors, interventions, progress, incidents, medications, activities, and shift information accurately and within required timeframes.
• Complete daily progress notes, shift summaries, medication records, incident reports, transportation records, and other required documentation.
• Transport residents to school, appointments, family visits, recreational activities, and community-based services when assigned.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and therapeutic residential environment.
• Assist with meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and other household responsibilities as assigned.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, behavioral crises, medical concerns, elopement risks, and other urgent situations.
• Communicate professionally and therapeutically with residents, families, guardians, social workers, schools, healthcare providers, therapists, and other members of the treatment team.
• Participate in staff meetings, supervision, treatment-team meetings, required training, and professional development.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, client-rights requirements, agency policies, and applicable state regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
