About this job

We are a warm, active family seeking a reliable and engaging part-time caregiver to assist during our late afternoon routine. We have two wonderful children: a high-energy, ASD Level 2, 5-year-old boy and a sweet 1.5-year-old girl. Schedule: Ideally Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM, although we're open to only 3 or 4 days/week. Compensation: $25 - $32/hour (depending on experience and credentials). Start Date: ASAP through Sept. 18, 2026. Key Responsibilities: From 2:30 PM until 3:45 PM, engage our 5-year-old in fun and educational activities while his sister naps, including outdoor play, weather-permitting. From 3:45 PM onwards, work with Mom to manage both children and assist with the early evening transition, including providing snack for our daughter, keeping our 5-year-old busy with structured play, and bathtime. Qualifications & Requirements: Proven experience working with children with ASD, speech delays, sensory processing needs, or related developmental profiles. Experience as an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician), line therapist, or special education aide is highly preferred. A calm, patient demeanor combined with the playful energy needed to keep up with an active 5-year-old. Must be willing to provide a minimum of two professional childcare references and undergo a comprehensive background check (TrustLine registration / Live Scan fingerprinting preferred). Optional but a plus: Clean driving record and valid license if any local driving/pickups are required. This is an ideal role for an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology who wants hands-on experience implementing positive behavioral strategies, routine transitions, and sensory-friendly care. If interested, please send a brief message outlining your experience working with neurodivergent children and a resume of your childcare background.
