Job Summary:
As a Staff Physical Therapy Assistant,.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with a physical therapist to execute treatment plans designed to improve patients mobility, strength, and overall functionality
- Consult with designated physical therapist regarding patients progress and/or need to modify treatment plans/established plan of care as necessary
- Implement therapeutic exercises, functional activities, gait training, and modalities under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist
- Monitor and document patient progress, including changes in mobility, pain levels, and functional abilities
- Provide education to patients and their families on, but not limited to, therapeutic exercises, functional activities, gait training, stair training, and home care activities.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care
- Consult with team regarding appropriate equipment recommendations for the patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized therapy environment
- Performs related duties as required
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience:
- 0-2 years experience in acute care and or rehabilitation, required
- Willing to train a new graduate
Education:
- Associates Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant college or university, required
Licenses / Certifications:
- Must posess license and current registration issued by the New York State Education Department as a Physical Therapy Assistant
