Activities Assistant

Rae-Ann Westlake is seeking a part-time Activities Assistant to join our team! There is no experience required for this position but the ideal candidate must have a willingness to learn, enthusiastic character and positive attitude. The activities assistant must be open to working weekends and some holidays.

Part-Time

• 4pm-8pm, 3 days per week. Monday, Wednesday, Saturday
  

Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older;

• Must have a basic understanding of the social, psychological and recreational needs of the aged as well as other types of residents in the nursing facility;

• Must have the ability to plan and organize recreational activities geared to the needs of the residents; and

• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, and be able to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.

Responsibilities:

• Executes activity programs to carry out the objectives of the nursing facility as part of total resident care;

• Supervises and protects residents during these activities and complies with safety regulations and policies;

• Uses care and proper technique of supplies and equipment; and

• Maintains necessary records.
