We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will operate various types of vehicles, including transit buses, school buses, and paratransit vehicles, to safely transport passengers across designated routes. Your primary focus will be ensuring passenger safety, providing excellent customer service, and adhering strictly to transportation safety regulations. Duties

• Safely operate commercial vehicles such as transit buses, school buses, and paratransit vans in accordance with traffic laws and company policies
• Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, including wheelchair assistance and child care needs
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical readiness before each shift
• Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents and respond promptly to traffic changes or road hazards
• Maintain accurate logs of trips, passenger counts, and vehicle maintenance reports
• Enforce passenger behavior management policies to ensure a safe environment for all riders
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, passengers, and team members using clear language and multilingual skills when needed

Skills

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport and wheelchair assistance
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, and transportation safety regulations at the state and local levels
• Experience working with children, seniors, or individuals with special needs in a transportation setting
• Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities such as bilingual proficiency are a plus
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures including CPR, first aid, emergency stop procedures, and incident reporting
• Defensive driving techniques and quick response skills to adapt to traffic changes swiftly
• Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance awareness
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely during vehicle inspections or loading/unloading tasks
• Behavior management skills to handle diverse passenger needs effectively while maintaining discipline and safety
