Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Electrical Field Test Technician II to perform acceptance testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low, medium, and high-voltage electrical power distribution equipment. This position supports mission-critical facilities including data centers, manufacturing plants, industrial facilities, healthcare, and commercial buildings.
Responsibilities
- Perform acceptance and maintenance testing on electrical power distribution equipment.
- Test, inspect, troubleshoot, commission, and maintain:
- Switchgear
- Circuit Breakers
- Power Transformers
- CTs/PTs
- Protective Relays
- MCCs
- Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
- Power Cables and Busway Systems
- Perform insulation resistance (Megger), breaker timing, contact resistance, transformer turns ratio (TTR), winding resistance, primary and secondary injection, relay testing, and other electrical diagnostic testing.
- Utilize testing equipment including Omicron, Doble, Megger, Vanguard, Fluke, and Hi-Pot equipment.
- Prepare detailed field reports and test documentation.
- Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, and industry safety standards.
- Travel to customer job sites as required.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of electrical apparatus testing, commissioning, or power systems field service experience.
- Experience testing electrical distribution equipment including switchgear, transformers, breakers, and protective relays.
- Working knowledge of NETA testing standards and electrical power distribution systems.
- Ability to read one-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- NETA Level II or NICET II certification.
- Experience with Omicron, Doble, Megger, Vanguard, or similar electrical testing equipment.
- Previous experience working in data centers, industrial manufacturing, utilities, mission-critical facilities, or heavy commercial environments.
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license is a plus.
