Job Description
Big South Fork Medical Center, a critical access hospital, in Oneida, TN is recruiting for a full time Nurse Practitioner (Midlevel) to become a part of our team! - Provide direct inpatient medical care in coordination with physicians and hospital staff.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized, outcomes-based treatment plans.
- Counsel patients and families on treatment options, preventive care, and health maintenance.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards.
- Participates in staff meetings, rounding and other activity to support a positive patient experience.
- Maintains cooperation and collaboration with hospital team, physicians, patients and families as needed to enhance continuity of care and a positive working environment.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
Education
· Graduate from an accredited NP program
·Experience & Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of inpatient experience or 4 years of total nurse practitioner experience preferred.
- Current, unrestricted APRN license in the state of Tennessee.
- Current BLS and/or ACLS certification.
- Current DEA license and other certifications necessary to legally practice in Tennessee.
- Must maintain required continuing education credits per state guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care measures.
- Ability to interpret and act upon lab and diagnostic test results.
- Skilled in counseling patients on medical and psychological conditions and treatment plans.
- Proficient in developing and managing comprehensive patient care plans.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable with computer systems and electronic health records.
- Ability to establish effective relationships with patients, families, and team members.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment.
Physical Demands
- Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Occasional heavy lifting required when assisting or moving patients who may be weak or non-ambulatory.
Schedule
- 7 days on / 7 days off rotation
- Includes call coverage during scheduled work week
- Work hours may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed for inpatient care
