Job Title: Injection Molding Maintenance Technician

Location: Jacksonville, FL.

Payrate: $30-$35/hr. DOE

Hours: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Shifts Monday-Friday

Department: Injection Molding / Manufacturing Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Manager FLSA: Non-Exempt

Position Summary Experienced hands-on technician responsible for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of injection molding machines and related production equipment. Focus on hydraulics, electronics/control systems, and pneumatics to maximize uptime, product quality, and equipment life.

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, electrical, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience maintaining injection molding machines and manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong, demonstrable experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial electronics/controls (PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives).
  • Experience with servo-driven injection presses, hydraulic power units and mold support systems preferred.
  • Proficient reading and interpreting electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, pressure gauges, and common diagnostic tools.
  • Familiarity with CMMS, spare parts management and basic PLC programming/ladder logic troubleshooting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform precision adjustments and alignments.


Preferred Certifications

  • Hydraulic/Pneumatic certification, PLC/troubleshooting courses, electrical license, or relevant vendor certifications (e.g., machine manufacturer).
  • OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety training.


Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair injection molding machines (hydraulic and electric) and auxiliary equipment.
  • Perform electrical and electronic repairs: PLCs, sensors, drives, motor controls, wiring, HMIs.
  • Maintain, repair and adjust hydraulic systems: pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, seals, pressure and flow controls.
  • Service pneumatic systems: air preparation units, valves, actuators, tubing and fittings.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and inspections per schedule; create and update PM checklists.
  • Perform root-cause analysis for repeat failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Calibrate and verify machine controls, temperature controllers, and measurement instrumentation.
  • Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, BOMs and machine manuals.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, spare parts inventory, and completion reports.
  • Support mechanical repairs: bearings, gearboxes, clamping systems, molds (remove/install), and basic machining/welding as needed.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering and quality to support tooling changes, process improvement and downtime reduction.
  • Mentor and train junior technicians on safe maintenance practices and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, lockout/tagout, and environmental procedures.

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and perform physical tasks (standing, bending, climbing ladders).

  • Availability for overtime, shift work and emergency call-in as needed.


Performance Metrics

Machine uptime/availability, mean time to repair (MTTR), preventive maintenance completion rate, reduction in repeat failures, spare parts turnover.
