Job Description
We are looking for a motivated individual with great attention to detail. This position will be responsible for performing a variety of highly skilled duties associated with the eye to prepare our patients for the physician evaluation, to include, but not limited to:
· Documentation of a patient's chief complaint. History of present illness, medical history, review of systems, and all ocular history/findings. Documentation must be accurate, thorough and in accordance with compliance guidelines. All patient documentation is entered into our group's EHR system.
· Scribe with the physician during exams and procedures
· Acquiring visual acuities
· Measurement of intra-ocular pressures by applanation tonometry
· Slit lamp examination
· Pupil testing
· Ocular motility
· Confrontation fields
· Color vision testing
· Perform special study exams such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), fundus photos and intravenous fluorescein angiography
· Assist physician with minor surgeries and laser procedures
· Other associated duties as assigned by the Office Manager or physician.
Requirements:
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Medical terminology background
- Strong computer skills
- Medical office experience (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time and part-time
Salary: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
