Philadelphia Technician Training Institute (PTTI) is seeking a motivated and student-focused Career Services Specialist to help students transition from skilled trade training into employment.

The Career Services Specialist works directly with students, instructors, and employers to prepare students for employment and connect qualified students and graduates with job opportunities in their chosen trade.


Key Responsibilities


  • Meet with students nearing program completion to assess career goals, employment readiness, and job search needs.
  • Assist students with creating professional resumes, references, job applications, and interview preparation.
  • Conduct mock interviews and facilitate Professional Development classes and workshops.
  • Connect students and graduates with employment opportunities in their field of study.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers in the skilled trades and related industries.
  • Conduct regular employer outreach to identify job openings and opportunities for students and graduates.
  • Coordinate employer referrals, interviews, presentations, job fairs, and other recruitment activities.
  • Collaborate with instructors to understand student skills, certifications, and
  • employment readiness.


Qualifications


  • At least two years of experience in career services, job placement, recruiting, workforce development, technical/trade education, or a related field; or two years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
  • Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and work independently.
  • Experience in an educational, vocational, workforce development, or skilled trades environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of job placement and employer relationship development preferred.
  • Maintain accurate records of student activities, employer contacts, job referrals, interviews, hires, and employment outcomes.
  • Track and document student placement and follow-up activities in accordance with department procedures.
  • Provide ongoing career guidance, job search support, and professional development to students and graduates.
