American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ED experience and telemetry skills.

  • -bed Emergency Department plus hallway beds within an acute care hospital setting
  • \n
  • Emergency Department serves patients of all ages at a NYS Designated Stroke Center
  • \n
  • Nurse to patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:5
  • \n
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12s, including shifts from 3p-3a and 7p-7a
  • \n
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • \n
  • Rotating holiday requirement
  • \n
  • No floating requirement outside of the unit
  • \n
  • Uses EPIC EMR
  • \n
  • Charge nurse present but role is not assigned to travelers
  • \n
  • Nurse aides available on the unit
  • \n
  • Respiratory Therapy coverage available 24/7
  • \n
  • Hospitalist support available
  • \n
  • No IV team or 24/7 pharmacy on-site
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n \n
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • \n
  • Active New York State RN license in good standing required
  • \n
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • \n
  • BSN not required for this position
  • \n
  • Telemetry skills required, including strip reading
  • \n
  • Experience with drips and ventilator management required
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Provide emergency care to patients of all ages in a stroke center-designated ED
  • \n
  • Read and interpret telemetry strips as part of daily patient monitoring
  • \n
  • Manage drips and ventilator patients as needed
  • \n
  • Floor-specific orientation provided
  • \n
  • Scrub color is not restricted
  • \n
  • Any required RTO must be submitted at time of application consideration
  • \n
