System One is seeking a Staff Accountant – Accounts Payable to support a fast-paced, high-volume accounting environment. This role is responsible for full-cycle accounts payable processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of financial transactions.

Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle accounts payable including tracking, coding, approvals, and payments
- Review invoices against purchase orders and supporting documentation
- Process invoices in ERP system (Oracle or similar), ensuring accurate matching and documentation
- Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Partner with procurement and internal teams to obtain approvals and resolve discrepancies
- Identify unallowable costs in accordance with government regulations and contract terms
- Process employee expense reimbursements
- Manage vendor relationships, including onboarding and issue resolution
- Support general ledger activities including journal posting
- Record sales and use tax as applicable
- Maintain AP files and monitor aging reports
- Support audits related to allowable/unallowable costs
- Assist with ERP system improvements and process enhancements
- Perform data analysis and reporting for accounting and audit purposes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in a high-volume accounts payable environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office 365
- Experience with Oracle Cloud AP or similar ERP systems (SAP, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, Dynamics) preferred
- Experience with government contracts or grant accounting preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles
