Material Handler (Insert Handler) - $1,000 Hiring Bonus
Job Summary:
The Material handler (Insert Handler) will receive and process all inserts, complete all related paperwork, and distribute the material to the appropriate area.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Receive, process and prepare insert receipt advice for inserts.
- Pull inserts needed for Finishing Department.
- Assist with inventory and order all cartons, tapes and sealers for Traffic Department.
- Act as back up Shipper / Receiver.
- Destroy leftover inserts when directed to do so by customer service rep.
- Pack up and ship out inserts when customer service rep requests it.
- Communicate daily with Asst. Traffic Coordinator (Lead Person).
- Assist with year-end inventory for Traffic Department.
- Operate company truck as needed.
- Assist in the Finishing Department as needed.
- Support the CJK Group Core Values effort throughout the Company.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures, while maintaining an overall awareness of safety within the workplace.
- Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned or required.
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of a High School diploma or GED/HiSET required.
- Valid driver’s license/copy of driving record required.
- Valid lift operator’s license or ability to be trained.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform work productively and safely.
- Reliable; good attendance is required.
- Required to work overtime as needed.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Basic computer knowledge/skills preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to a maximum of 50 lbs. frequently.
- Continuous standing required.
- Frequent walking and stooping required.
- Occasional sitting, crouching, and reaching/working overhead required.
- Good visual acuity and manual dexterity required.
- Work environment involves exposure to excessive noise, being near moving machinery, and exposure to potential arm and wrist fatigue.
- Must wear hearing protection and safety shoes.
