Founded in 1986, Falk School serves students ages 5–21 across four Western New York campuses through highly structured classrooms and individualized educational supports. As an affiliate of Child & Family Services, we are committed to helping students build the academic, behavioral, and life skills needed to thrive.

Our classrooms are intentionally small—typically six students supported by one teacher and one teacher aide—allowing educators to develop meaningful relationships while providing individualized instruction and support.

As a Music Teacher, you'll inspire creativity, self-expression, and confidence through engaging music instruction designed to meet the unique strengths and needs of students with disabilities. Through vocal, instrumental, rhythmic, and movement-based activities, you'll help students develop musical skills while fostering collaboration, communication, and personal growth.

• Develop and deliver engaging music lessons aligned with New York State Music Learning Standards and each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
• Adapt music instruction to meet the diverse academic, behavioral, communication, and developmental needs of students with disabilities.
• Foster creativity, self-expression, collaboration, and confidence through vocal, instrumental, rhythmic, and music appreciation activities.
• Create and maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive music classroom that encourages student participation and success.
• Implement student IEPs, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and classroom accommodations during music instruction.
• Assess student progress using formal and informal assessment methods and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare instructional materials, instruments, technology, and other resources to support engaging music experiences.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Plan and support school performances, assemblies, or special music-related activities as appropriate.
• Utilize Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques when necessary to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, and other duties as assigned.

• New York State Music Certification required.
• Students with Disabilities (SWD) certification preferred or willingness to work within a special education setting.
• Knowledge of New York State Music Learning Standards
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills
• Ability to adapt music instruction to meet diverse student learning needs.
• Passion for fostering creativity, confidence, and self-expression through music.
• Commitment to building meaningful relationships with students
