Job Description
Quality Assurance Manager - Building Enclosures
Greater Seattle Area
Are you an architect, building-envelope consultant, or construction professional interested in taking your expertise beyond a traditional design or project-management role?
Our client, a nationally recognized general contractor, is expanding its Building Enclosure Quality team in Seattle. For nearly 30 years, this group has helped establish the standard for high-performance, durable, and energy-efficient construction throughout the Pacific Northwest.
The Quality Assurance Manager is involved throughout the entire project lifecycle—from reviewing early designs and advising project teams during preconstruction to evaluating building-envelope installation in the field. You will work closely with architects, consultants, owners, subcontractors, superintendents, and internal project teams to identify potential issues early and help ensure buildings perform as intended.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in architecture, construction, building science, or enclosure consulting who is curious, collaborative, and interested in becoming a true building-performance expert.
Quality Assurance Manager Responsibilities:
Lead quality assurance efforts from pre-design through construction completion
Assist with project risk assessments and develop project quality plans
Coordinate with architects, consultants, and third-party building envelope specialists
Review design documents for quality, constructability, and coordination
Support bid reviews, scope clarifications, and contract evaluations
Oversee quality coordination during construction, including submittals, RFIs, and mockups
Perform regular field inspections throughout building envelope construction
Develop and support QA/QC training programs for project teams
Manage warranty-related issues and contribute to lessons learned initiatives
Research construction materials, systems, and industry best practices
Support regional marketing efforts related to the company's quality program
Quality Assurance Manager Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Building Science, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
At least 2 years of experience in construction, quality assurance, architecture, or building enclosure systems
Strong understanding of building envelope design and construction
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Experience coordinating with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
Strong communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills
Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD
Experience developing QA/QC processes or training programs is a plus
Company Benefits:
Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
PTO and Paid Holidays
401k Plan and Company Matching
Compensation: $85,000 - $110,000+
