Pharmacy Technician (Call Center / Patient Support) – $22.00/hr – Cary, NC (Onsite Training, Hybrid Possible)

Location: Cary, NC 27513


Pay: $22.00/hr


Schedule:

  • Training (6–9 weeks): Mon–Fri 9:00 AM–5:30 PM (onsite)
  • Permanent shift: Mon–Fri 11:30 AM–8:00 PM (overtime may be required during peak)


Job Summary


We’re hiring a Pharmacy Technician for a high-volume patient support and prescription coordination role in Cary, NC. This Pharmacy Technician position is built for candidates with strong call center experience who can stay on a strict schedule, document accurately, and handle sensitive information. You’ll support non-clinical pharmacy workflows such as prescription status updates, refill scheduling, medication delivery coordination, insurance verification, and payment scheduling, with clinical escalations routed to pharmacists/nurses when needed.


What You’ll Do


  • Handle inbound and outbound calls related to prescription refills, delivery scheduling, and payment coordination
  • Provide prescription status updates (pending/shipped), refill needs, and basic billing/invoice support
  • Verify insurance information and update patient profiles accurately
  • Document clear case notes and progress notes so the team can quickly see status
  • Use knowledge bases and multiple web-based systems while on calls (multi-window navigation)
  • Escalate clinical questions to pharmacists/nurses and report adverse events/product complaints per process
  • Follow strict schedule adherence (attendance, breaks/lunches, workflow procedures)


What You Need (Deal Breakers)


  • Able to be onsite in Cary, NC for training with reliable transportation
  • 1+ year heavy call center experience with strict attendance/schedule adherence
  • 35+ WPM typing with accuracy
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office + web-based systems; multi-tasking across screens)
  • High School Diploma/GED
