Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist with construction accounting experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of high-volume AP processing, vendor management, job cost coding, and construction-related accounting practices. Experience with Yardi is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and timely.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation.
• Review and code invoices to the appropriate jobs, cost codes, and general ledger accounts.
• Manage vendor relationships and respond to payment inquiries.
• Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate AP records and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
• Support project managers and accounting teams with job cost reporting and invoice tracking.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal controls.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably within the construction, real estate, or property management industry.
• Hands-on experience with Yardi required.
• Strong understanding of job costing, lien waivers, and construction accounting processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience processing subcontractor invoices and construction-related payments.
• Knowledge of retainage, purchase orders, and project cost tracking.
