1st Shift Sweeper Driver

JOB PURPOSE: Operates sweeper and other vehicles to clean and maintain assigned route and sites. Willing to train the right candidate.

 DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:

·       Complete daily sweeper inspection log.

·       Drive street sweeping vehicle to clean properties of trash, debris, and other contaminants.

·       Empty garbage cans and replace bags (Only on specified sites)

·       Fill on-board water system.

·       Operates on-board water system to facilitate debris and dust collection.

·       Operates controls to activate rotary brushes and drives sweepers near curb lines.

·       Dumps collected debris into designated dumpsters.

·       Operates backpack blower and hand tools in areas sweeper can not access.

·       Uses company WEX card for fueling (Sweepers, Blowers, Trimmers)

·       Keep equipment clean and stocked with supplies needed for everyday operations.

·       Other tasks as assigned by management.  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·       Written and Verbal skills

·       Detail oriented

·       Knowledge of various street maintenance equipment, their use, and maintenance.

·       Ability to know your location in relation to the environment or to now where other objects are in relation to you and the vehicle.

·       Ability to work in safe and efficient manner

·       Ability to use basic hand tools

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

·       Experience: Two years driving experience

·       Ability to be insured in ME and MA

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

·       Maintain a valid Driver’s license

·       Maintain a valid DOT Medical Card (Company will pay and assist)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·       Sitting, standing, walking, driving, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 75 lbs. multiple times per shift, talking, hearing, and seeing.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

·       Spends most time outdoors, frequent exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
