Duration: 6-Month Contract
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (30-minute lunch)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Drafter to support a fast-paced engineering team responsible for designing tooling components used in nondestructive testing applications. This role will utilize SolidWorks and established drafting standards to convert design concepts into accurate technical drawings while collaborating closely with tool makers and engineering personnel.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, working knowledge of drafting principles, and the ability to quickly contribute with minimal training.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and revise detailed mechanical drawings using SolidWorks.
• Apply established drafting standards and file configuration requirements to all drawings.
• Convert engineering and design information into accurate technical documentation for tooling components.
• Maintain drawing accuracy, revision control, and documentation integrity.
• Collaborate closely with tool makers, engineers, and project team members to support project deliverables.
• Review drawings for compliance with ANSI drafting standards and company requirements.
• Support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
• Utilize mathematical concepts and drafting principles to develop precise technical drawings.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate Degree in Drafting Technology, Mechanical Drafting, or a related discipline preferred.
• Candidates with a High School Diploma must possess a minimum of three (3) years of drafting experience.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks is required.
• Knowledge of drafting standards and file configurations.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems.
• Experience interpreting technical information and producing detailed drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general PC applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree with drafting coursework and internship or entry-level drafting experience.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiarity with ANSI drafting standards.
• Experience in manufacturing, oil & gas, or other mechanically focused industries.
