Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented NPI Quality Engineer to support our New Product Introduction team. In this role, you will lead quality assurance and inspection strategies for complex machined components, develop advanced CMM programs, and ensure all new products comply with rigorous customer, engineering, and aerospace standards.

Key Responsibilities

CMM Programming & Inspection

  • Program Development: Develop, edit, and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs using PC-DMIS and MCOSMOS for complex machined parts.
  • Inspection Strategy: Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, technical specifications, and standards to define robust inspection methodologies.
  • Tooling & Setup: Identify and utilize appropriate fixturing, tooling, and setups to ensure repeatable, highly accurate measurements.
  • Product Verification: Review and verify product inspections and testing to ensure strict compliance with customer requirements and engineering standards.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Documentation: Create, review, and maintain critical quality documentation, including First Article Inspections (FAI), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), control plans, and inspection plans.
  • Statistical Analysis: Perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Gage R&R studies to validate measurement systems. Utilize statistical tools (e.g., SPC, Minitab) to interpret measurement data and drive process improvements.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure all project and process control documentation adheres to ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management standards, as well as specific customer contracts.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Safety

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional manufacturing teams—including design engineers, CNC machinists, and quality control inspectors—to seamlessly transition new products into production.
  • Work independently to drive quality initiatives and meet project timelines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in strict accordance with company safety guidelines.
  • Perform other related quality engineering duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or similar quality assurance role within a precision manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • 3+ years of hands-on CMM programming experience required.
    • Strong expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), blueprint reading, and modern inspection methodologies.
    • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards.
    • Proficiency with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, SPC) for data interpretation and process validation.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is strongly preferred.
  • Attributes: Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to achieve objectives with minimal supervision.
