Job Description

Seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct clinical support to physicians and patients in a fast-paced Dermatology setting. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, attentive, and comfortable assisting with both medical and procedural dermatology care.

The LPN will help prepare patients for visits, support dermatologic procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure patients receive a professional and caring experience throughout their appointment. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work well with a collaborative clinical team.


Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, allergies, and current medications.
  • Assist providers during dermatology exams and procedures, including biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and wound care.
  • Prepare and stock exam rooms and ensure instruments and supplies are ready for patient care.
  • Document patient information accurately in the EMR.
  • Assist with specimen collection, dressing changes, and post-procedure care.
  • Communicate patient concerns to providers and help coordinate follow-up as needed.
  • Support patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and aftercare instructions.
  • Maintain cleanliness, infection control, and safety standards at all times.
  • Assist with telephone calls, scheduling, and general office support when needed.
  • Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and all practice policies and procedures.


Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
  • Current, active New York State LPN license required.
  • Previous dermatology experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of patient care, clinical workflow, and basic procedural support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to document accurately and work efficiently in an EMR system.
  • Experience with wound care, medication administration, and specimen handling preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
